GREEN BAY, Wis. (WGBW) – The Green Bay Packers have apparently made their decision regarding the quarterback position.

Aaron Rodgers has been traded to the New York Jets, according to multiple media reports.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on the trade Monday afternoon.

The Packers will swap first-round picks in this week’s NFL Draft, moving up from 15th overall to 13th, and acquire a second- and sixth-round draft pick this year, as well as a conditional second-round pick next year that will become a first-round pick next year if Rodgers plays 65% of the Jets’ snaps this season. Green Bay will also send its fifth-round pick to New York in the trade, according to Adam Schefter.

Rodgers said in March he wanted to play for New York during an interview with Pat McAfee. During the interview, Rodgers said he was leaning towards retirement until he found out that the Packers had been discussing trading him.

The move comes 14 years after the Packers traded Brett Favre to the Jets in another highly-publicized offseason move involving a future Hall of Fame quarterback.

It is expected that former first-round pick Jordan Love will become the Packers’ new starting quarterback. Love has appeared in 10 games for the Packers, with one start as a rookie, throwing for three touchdowns and three interceptions and 606 yards in his career so far.

Rodgers threw for 59,055 yards, 475 touchdowns and played in 230 career games with the Packers.

The move has not yet been finalized by the NFL, according to Brian Gutekunst, the Packers’ General Manager, speaking to media ahead of the NFL Draft on Monday. Gutekunst said he expects the trade to be complete before the draft.
