RACINE, Wis. (WRJN) — The Racine Police Department issued a traffic advisory Monday stating that no full road closures will be required for President Donald Trump’s rally on Tuesday at Festival Hall. However, some traffic delays and parking restrictions are expected downtown.

The event doors open at 11 a.m., with the main gathering scheduled for 3 p.m. While no streets will be completely closed, the advisory warned of possible delays at intersections as crowds arrive.

Rotary Park Dr. will have limited access between 5th St. and 6th St. Fifth St. from Lake Ave to Festival Hall will also be limited to traffic. Access to the Lake Avenue ramp will be available from Lake Ave. but not 5th St.

A peaceful protest is planned for Monument Square, according to the police statement. Local law enforcement will be on site “to ensure safety and manage traffic flow.” Alderman Sandy Weidner ‘replied all’ to the media statement from police, asking how they knew the protest would be peaceful.

Businesses in the downtown area have been advised they can remain open during the event.
