A new AARP Wisconsin presidential poll again shows the importance of voters age 50 and older. Jeff Liszt (list) is a pollster, and partner at Impact Research.
There are trends both state wide and among older voters since there has been a change in the Democratic ticket.
Liszt says there are also differences in demographics.
He adds the gaps are also playing out in the senate race.
Jeff Liszt says when it comes to issues, immigration matters to Republicans and abortion and threats to democracy matters to Democrats. However, personal economics matter to the persuadable voters.
Medicare is also an issue, but not as big as other issues.
The survey didn’t ask open ended questions to find out why people may be voting a split ticket, but Liszt says the survey does show the interests of voters over 50.
The new poll finds 48% of likely voters backing Vice President Harris, 45% supporting former President Trump, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who remains on the ballot after dropping out of the race, at 2%.
